Very Special Gift

Chele....that is beautiful! The only thing I have
of my great grandmother on my dads side is a heart
shaped necklace...i treasure it! I was 2 when she
died...but i clearly remember sitting on her
porch swing with her holding me and singing to me
so when I see that necklace...i see her smiling
face!

My aunt came by a few minutes ago and gave me a small black box. Inside was a necklace made of purple and blue polished stones. They had belonged to my grandmother who died when i was 3 years old. My father's mother and someone i spent my first three years with almost every day. She was very young when we lost her and it was to cancer. The necklace I now have was made from stones in a necklace she used to wear quite often. My aunt took the stones and had them strung on gold chains for the three of us (my aunt connie, my aunt sharon and myself.) This is something i will treasure with all my heart. You see my aunt connie had a stepdaughter that stole all the jewelry my grandmother had left behind and pawned it. This necklace was the only thing she didnt steal. Ive never forgave the girl for doing that. It was my heritage she took and all i really had left of my grandmother. Now i have something to keep of my own.

chele....those are beautiful stones...but so much more than that...they have a wonderful legacy and what a special thing to now have...i bet you sit holding them in your hand and they make you feel good *S*
